Choc-Almond Slice

Total time 20 mins | Serves 8-10 | Gluten Free, Egg Free, Dairy Free

Ingredients

250g almond butter (roasted almonds if possible)

120mls pure maple syrup

40g desiccated coconut

100g oats (gluten free if necessary)

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp sea salt

Choc Top

80g dark chocolate

80g almond butter

chopped nuts, to top

Sea salt, to top

Method

  1. Line a loaf tin with baking paper and set aside. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the almond butter, maple syrup, desiccated coconut, oats, vanilla and salt.

  2. Place the mixture into your lined loaf tin and firmly press down with the back of a spoon.

  3. For the Choc Top, place your dark chocolate in a small saucepan over low-medium heat. Once melted, stir in the almond butter and pour evenly over the base. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and sea salt flakes, then transfer to the fridge until firm. Once set, slice into bars and store in an airtight container in the fridge
